Intro to Recruiting
Authored by Becks, updated by Das
*S* Members of the mighty NRN! You are now reading an introduction to recruiting. Though recruiting may seem to be easy, its a complex procedure that will need your full attention. Only successful introductions into the NRN will ensure our future. Please read carefully through this guide and make sure you follow it as best as you can when you recruit. Recruiting consists out of 5 main-steps who should be followed whenever you recruit someone whether its ingame, in a chat or even in real life. It may also happen that individual circumstances force you to alter this process but you always need to make sure that our recruits are well informed about what it means to be in the NRN and how this mighty fleet works.
1. Recruit / First Information When you get in contact with another player, you will most likely ask him to join the NRN at some point. It may also happen if that player asks you about it. Its important for you to know what to say at that moment. It is the right moment to give some global informations about the fleet:
- - the NRN exists since nearly 12 years
- - multigame clan
- - academy with the possibility to gain several skill ranks and 4 Division Awards and also Fleet Awards
- - strict Code of Conduct / we require maturity, respect and tolerance
- - loose military structure
- Also make sure you show the player our rules page. They need to understand that it means alot of responsibility to be a member of the mighty NRN.
2. Sign-up This involves signing-up at the NRN page aswell as any tournament sites that are required to join the respective division (for example: if you join the JK Division, you need to be signed-up at battlestats.com). Also inform them about leaving us a working contact possibility at the Sign-up form. At last, the new recruit needs to make sure that his NRN pagename is similar to his ingamename. It does not have to be the exact name. little alterations are possible. An example for this is: Das - Dass
3. Assign When the Recruit has signed-up at the page it is time for him to choose a squad. Make sure that they know that it may take a few hours until the Squad CO has accepted his application to join the squad. If you see an admiral online you can also ask him to accept the recruit to the squad.
4. Further Information When the "official" deskwork is done, you should speak with the recruit about his next steps. He should know the following:
- - the recruit should make a post at the "New Recruit Info" Board to introduce himself to the fleet
- - will be promoted first when he got his first training session
- - if there are any probs he can speak with a DIA officer, his CO or any Admiral
- - little overview about his new squad (who is CO, XO, XA, squadpage etc...)
If there are any other questions the recruit asks, feel free to answer them as best as you can. Otherwise you should ask any higher ranking officer about it.
5. Train This part merely refers to instructors but also non-instructors can train or play with new members. It is always a good start into the fleet when you play together with the recruit, maybe even introduce him to other members of the fleet. If you are an instructor, dont forget to tell the recruit that he has been promoted to academy cadet for his first training session. That promo also needs to be announced at the Academy Council
I hope you find this tutorial somehow helpful. Good Luck with Recruiting *S*
